How to use Budgiva

Five minutes for a first projection, then one minute a month.

Last updated: 1 October 2026

1. Create an account

An email address and a password are enough; a confirmation link arrives by email. No bank to connect, no card required.

2. Enter your capital

In My situation, the Capital available today card takes the total of your accounts, savings included — a negative balance is written with a minus sign. It is the starting point of the projection: enter it once, then whenever it really changes.

3. Add your income and your expenses

Two ways, whichever you prefer:

Spending money — the allowance for the small expenses you do not record — is set on the same page. The method guide explains why it changes everything.

4. Read your projection

The Projection screen shows what you will have left, month after month, from three months to five years: drag the horizon, and the curve follows. The projection starts next month, because the current month is already under way. The Review, for its part, breaks down your month: what comes in, what goes out, what remains.

5. Try an idea

In the Projection, What if…? pauses an expense or adds a change, and shows the curve that would result, without saving anything. A goal — an amount by a date — tells you whether it will be reached, and when.

6. One minute a month: the balance check

In the Review, Record this month’s balance: the total of your accounts. Budgiva compares it with what was planned and shows you the gap. If you forget, an email with no amounts in it gives you a nudge — it can be adjusted or turned off in Settings.
